Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship

Continuing our family’s legacy of supporting skilled trades and apprenticeship education, the Marshall Family are proud to have made another major gift to Mohawk College to help advance apprenticeship programs at the Stoney Creek campus.
Our Commitment to Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship
On August 16, 2017, we announced our $1.5 million donation to support apprenticeship programs at Mohawk College’s Stoney Creek campus. In recognition of this gift, Mohawk College named the school the Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship in our family’s honour.

This donation built upon our earlier contribution in 2006 to honour our late father, Gerald Marshall. With that gift, we supported major construction and renovations at the campus, leading to the naming of the Gerald Marshall Centre for Transportation, dedicated to skilled trades and transportation training.
Training the Next Generation
At the Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship, students get hands-on training in traditional skills while integrating emerging technologies. Whether learning construction, advanced manufacturing, automotive service, or electrical wiring, students benefit from expert faculty and practical workplace experience. They also complete the in-school education required to become qualified journeypersons in Ontario.
“The Marshall family are great champions of the skilled trades and outstanding supporters of apprentices, students, and our college. We’re proud to recognize their generous support by naming our School of Apprenticeship & Skilled Trades in their honour.” – Mohawk College President Ron McKerlie
Honouring Our Father’s Legacy
The skilled trades have been at the heart of our family’s businesses for generations. Our father, Gerald Marshall, built his career on a foundation of hard work and mentorship. Continuing that legacy, we are proud to support those pursuing careers in the skilled trades.
